In an increasingly complex and unequal world, there is one experience that is almost universal, speaking to both the agony and the ecstasy of the human experience. I’m talking of course, about the assembly of Ikea furniture. Over the past few weeks I’ve assembled more than my fair share of Ikea furniture, and I can’t help but think about user experience when I’m going through the process. I walked away from the experience with new, mostly-assembled furniture and a healthy new respect for the importance of user experience.
